A propos de moi
My key takeaway is the bravery Nintendo has shown when it comes to expanding upon Breath of the Wild with a sequel that not only takes place in the same world, but questions its history and the characters within it we’ve already come to know and love. No longer confined by tragic flashbacks and environmental storytelling, Link and Zelda now occupy the present day and will make choices lined with immense and immediate consequences. We are set to learn so much about them and likely come to view them as different people by the time it’s all over. Not just in this game, but how these two iconic characters have been portrayed throughout history.
An ancient evil has once again descended upon Hyrule, awakening a forgotten civilization in the sky and imbuing the land’s creatures with newfound power and aggression that will likely tear everything asunder. The stakes are high, with Hyrule Castle crumbling away into dust as red streaks of energy bubble and burst into the landscape. I’m not even sure if Ganon is the one talking in the trailer’s opening seconds, convinced Nintendo is throwing out a red herring as the previous calamity prepares to play a far more pivotal role in the upcoming story.
Zelda also wields a new slate this time around, that is far more reminiscent of the Switch than the Wii U, hinting that she either found a second for her own use, or Link no longer requires it thanks to the magical arm business he has going down. Yes, I am begging for Zelda to be playable , and all the pieces falling neatly into place like this doesn’t help matters.
To no surprise, Link returns as the protagonist and main playable character of Tears of the Kingdom , and while his combat and exploration mechanics remain similar to BOTW , TOTK also gives Link plenty of new abilities , seemingly courtesy of his new mechanical arm. Expanding on Link's climbing and gliding, Tears of the Kingdom will give him the ability to fuse objects together to craft new weapons, arrows, shields, and even entire vehicles for traversing through water or air, perfectly suiting the game's floating sky islands and greatly expanding the options for both exploration and combat. Moreover, unlike in BOTW , Link seems to get to keep his memories this time aro
Enemy variety was one of Breath of the Wild 's strong suits but giving old enemies extra attacks or armor won't be enough to make for the challenging new combat encounters fans will need to truly enjoy the new game. Fans are also hoping to see the return of fan-favorite enemies like ReDeads and Darknuts, so this is one area where fans would be bitterly disappointed if Tears of the Kingdom went for a lazier opt
Breath of the Wild begins with an amnesiac Link awakening to the sound of a feminine voice, rousing him from a strange pod-like device. Directed by the voice to claim the Shiekah Slate resting on a nearby pedestal, he emerges from an underground chamber to find himself on a plateau overlooking a beautiful but desolate Hyrule. He soon encounters a strange old man who offers to trade his paraglider for the spirit orbs held within four nearby Sheikah Shrines, which also unlock various features of the Sheikah Slate. Link completes the shrine’s tests, only for the old man to disappear while inviting him to the nearby ruined Temple of T
Tears of the Kingdom flooding Hyrule and leading to The Wind Waker would be an interesting twist, but that's not the only direction that it could go. In fact, there is already at least one contradiction between the two games. Not only did the King of Hyrule have different names in both Breath of the Wild and The Wind Waker , but BOTW 's king was already dead long before that game, much less TOTK , while Wind Waker 's king was there at Hyrule's end. The Kings of The Legend of Zelda 's Hyrule are not the only difference, but they are one of the most promin
In recent days, images from the artbook for Tears of the Kingdom leaked online, and they revealed plenty of secrets well before the game's release. Amidst the Tears of the Kingdom leaks were several images of fish and ships. It's already known that the game will feature floating islands around Hyrule, so it's possible that the ships could be airships of some sort. When combined with several different fish shown off, though, it gives off the impression that they're designed for the ocean inst
If Tears of the Kingdom has ships sailing around, then it's not out of the realm of possibility to think that Hyrule could be flooded during the events of TOTK . There are already floating islands, and it's possible that they could end up being an escape from the waters down below. Tears of the Kingdom may not be dark compared to other Zelda games, after all, but that doesn't mean that it won't see Hyrule experiencing another great turm
Whenever Nintendo decides to provide an answer surrounding The Legend of Zelda Ancient sages: Tears of the Kingdom , it hurls out dozens more questions and keeps the theory wheels turning in our brains. Yesterday’s Direct featured an extended glimpse at new gameplay mechanics, while also teasing a healthy dose of character and narrative details I am totally going to read too much into and come to conclusions that probably won’t end up happening.
