A propos de moi
By the time of Mika's release in Genshin Impact, it had been quite a long since a character from Mondstadt was made playable. The most recent before Mika's release in March of 2023 was Eula all the way back in May of 2021, preceded by Rosaria in April of the same year.
Interestingly, all three of these characters have Cryo Visions! This means all three of them will need Shivada Jade to ascend. However, they also need many other ascension materials. Here are all of Mika's, as well as the items needed to improve his talents.
You can click this infographic to enlarge it and zoom in.
Here are each of Mika's materials in short. Scroll down to the next sections for more in-depth information on each.
Every character in Genshin Impact requires more than 8 million EXP to reach level 90, which is the maximum level. At certain thresholds, they'll need to ascend to continue leveling up. Below is a table showing how much EXP is needed between each ascension level.

Shivada Jade is the Cryo ascension gem, and Mika needs it just like any other Cryo character. It can be found in a few ways, but the main source is by defeating bosses that drop it. This includes:
-
Cryo Regisvine
-
Cryo Hypostasis
-
Coral Defenders
-
Maguu Kenki
-
Perpetual Mechanical Array
-
Primo Geovishap *
-
Aeonblight Drake
-
Iniquitous Baptist
-
Icewind Suite (Coppelius)
-
Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker
-
Andrius (The Wolf of the North Challenge)
-
Childe (Enter the Golden House)
-
Azhdaha (Beneath the Dragon Queller) *
-
La Signora (Narukami Island: Tenshukaku)
*Azhdaha and the Primo Geovishap can only drop Shivada Jade when they're aligned with Cryo.
Mika is one of many characters who use Fatui Insignias in their ascension. These badges drop from Fatui agents when defeated, but not every type of Fatui enemy can drop them. The Fatui that are capable of dropping Insignias are Cicin Mages, AnimeWiki Pyro Agents, and Skirmishers. Mirror Maidens and Operatives do not drop Insignias.
At higher levels, the Fatui are able to drop better Insignias, as follows:
Fatui can be found almost anywhere, but if you're looking to farm them without too much teleporting, some good spots to head to include around the center of Liyue, like near the Dunyu Ruins and Cuijue Slope, the north side of Dragonspine along the base of the mountain from Wyrmrest Valley over to the edge of Dadaupa Gorge, northwest of King Deshret's Mausoleum in the Sumeru desert, and in Inazuma on the northwestern bit of Seirai Island, around the Mikage Furnace, and the northern half of Narukami Island.
Despite being from Mondstadt and a Cryo character, Mika uses the item drop of an Anemo-aligned boss from Sumeru: Setekh Wenut. When defeated, this large worm-like monster will drop Pseudo-Stamens, the boss material needed for Mika's ascension.
To find this boss, head to the southeastern edge of the Desert of Hadramaveth in Sumeru. It's located slightly underground, in the Wenut tunnels. For a complete guide on defeating it, check our guide:
Since Genshin Impact's release back in 2020, Razor has been the only character to use Wolfhook as an ascension material. He finally found a buddy in Mika, who also uses the strange purple berry.
This plant is only found in Wolvendom, tucked into the foliage at the base of trees. Every three days, Chloris will sell the player five of them for 1,000 Mora each. This eccentric young lady can be found in the Windrise area of Mondstadt, generally traversing the road between the Temple of the Wolf and Anime game story guide the Temple of the Falcon.
Unfortunately, Wolfhook cannot be grown in the Serenitea Pot.
Mika seems a bit too nervous to speak in front of medium-sized groups, so it's hard to imagine him performing a ballad. Despite this, he uses the Ballad talent series from Mondstadt to upgrade his talents. Perhaps that's why he needs a guide to more public performance.
These talent books can be obtained in many ways, but the vast majority of them will be obtained by clearing the Forsaken Rift domain on Wednesdays, Saturdays, or Sundays. It's wise not to bring Mika himself into this challenge, as it's full of Cryo enemies that are immune or resistant to other Cryo attacks.
Like his boss drop, Mika will need to head over to Sumeru to upgrade his talents at the higher levels. This is because he requires an item only found there: the Mirror of Mushin. This item is only obtainable from defeating Scaramouche in the Joururi Workshop trounce domain.
To unlock this trounce domain, players must complete Chapter III: Act V - Akasha Pulses, the Kalpa Flame Rises, specifically the quest titled Where the Boat of Consciousness Lies.
Players who have not unlocked this trounce domain the regular way can Quick Challenge it if they've reached Adventure Rank 40, but only in solo mode.
